Ven. Chukwuma Izuehie

The Rector, Venerable Chukwuma Izuehie, was ordained by The Most Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Olisa Chukwuma (Rtd), the then Anglican bishop of Enugu diocese, in July 2003. He served in various parishes in the diocese, such as St. Cyprian’s Anglican Church, Abakpa Nike, Enugu; St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Chinatown, Asata, Enugu; St. Bartholomew’s Anglican Church, Asata, Enugu; and Christ Redemption WTC, Ogui, Enugu, before relocating to the United States of America. He also served as the diocesan deputy youth chaplain and the welfare coordinator of the Diocesan Clergy Fellowship in Enugu diocese.

In 2012, in the United States of America, he joined the then Missionary Diocese of the Trinity, under the episcopacy of The Rt. Rev. Amos Fagbamiye (Rtd), as the Rector of Igbo Anglican Church, Irvington, New Jersey. He was preferred as a statutory canon and installed at the Anglican Cathedral Church of the Resurrection, Indianapolis, by His Lordship, The Rt. Rev. Amos Fagbamiye, on December 16, 2012. He later became the pioneer priest and Rector of the Anglican Church of the Resurrection, Newark, New Jersey, on April 13, 2014 (Palm Sunday), after Igbo Anglican Church moved to CANA.

He was later appointed and collated as the Archdeacon of North East Archdeaconry on Saturday, November 10, 2018, by His Lordship, The Rt. Rev. Amos Fagbamiye. Since the inception of the Anglican Church of the Resurrection, Newark, NJ, under the spiritual leadership of Venerable Chukwuma Izuehie, the church has tremendously grown spiritually, physically, numerically, and financially. The church moved from its rented hall, which housed her for almost seven years, to her new ultra-modern church building located in Newark, which was dedicated on June 19, 2022, by His Grace, The Most Rev. Dr. Henry Chukwudum Ndukuba, the Archbishop, Primate, and Metropolitan of the Church of Nigeria, accompanied by Mrs. Angela Ndukuba (Mama Nigeria) and other Archbishops, Bishops, and clergy of the Church of Nigeria. On Monday, January 29, 2024, Venerable Chukwuma Izuehie was appointed by the Primate of the Church of Nigeria, The Most Rev. Dr. Henry Chukwudum Ndukuba, to serve on a four-man committee on Spirituality for CONNAM.

Venerable Izuehie’s path in ministry is shaped by threads of prayer, study, and love for humanity. His footsteps echo through the hallowed halls of our church, leaving indelible marks of hope and transformation. From the pulpit to the hospital bedside, he embodies the essence of pastoral care. Venerable Chukwuma Izuehie’s unwavering faith is the cornerstone of his ministry. His sermons resonate with biblical truth, inspiring his congregation and other listeners to embrace God’s grace and live purposefully.

Venerable Chukwuma Izuehie holds a diploma in Theology from the famous Trinity Theological College, Umuahia, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He is a trained corporate, law enforcement, and hospital chaplain. He also holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from Walden University, Minnesota, USA. He currently works with the Department of Public Safety, Division of Police, as a law enforcement chaplain while pastoring the congregation at the Anglican Church of the Resurrection, Newark, New Jersey. He loves the outdoors and enjoys traveling, cooking, and baking.

Venerable Chukwuma Izuehie is from Nanka in Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra. He is married to his beautiful wife, Mrs. Ijeoma Izuehie, and the union is blessed with three children: Goodness, Chimamaka, and Chimzitalu Izuehie.
